A little background behind why I created smelly lunchbox merch…
Thank you for being part of the smelly lunchbox community! It’s been such an amazing past few years of sharing my family’s culture and recipes with you.
(that’s me and my parents!)
I started smelly lunchbox a few years ago as a personal project, without any expectations of making it my career.
My goal then was to reclaim and reconnect with my roots in the best way I knew how — by cooking and recreating the foods that I grew up eating.
But as the smelly community grew, I listened to all your experiences, I learned so much from you, and my goal changed.
All the amazing, heartfelt messages about what smelly lunchbox means to you made me realize my bigger purpose:
smelly lunchbox wasn’t just for myself anymore, it’s for everyone who’s a long way from home, who experienced their own smelly lunchbox, who wants a reminder of their lost loved ones, or who’s interested in our cuisine and culture.
So in addition to recipes and stories, I knew I wanted to create something more tangible for you to celebrate and share your own smelly lunchbox pride.
For the past few months, I’ve been designing and working really hard on the first ever smelly lunchbox merch.
